     platforms that use the common language of a TCP/IP (Transmission
     Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) system.

     A TCP/IP corporate network might include DEC/VAX(R) and DECstations,
     Hewlett-Packard(R), Sun(R) or a variety of other workstation
     platforms, as well as NCR(R) and AT&T(R) minicomputers, IBM(R)
     mainframes and PCs running SCO UNIX(R). LANtastic for TCP/IP software
     allows users on a LANtastic PC network to share the host computer's
     printers, disk space, data files, applications and more. 

     Unique to LANtastic for TCP/IP software is its elegant centralized
     server configuration. Instead of storing full TCP/IP software on every
     station's hard drive, the program's 2.5 megabytes of program kernel
     and drivers are available to all workstations on a LANtastic for
     TCP/IP server. Workstations on the LANtastic network run a batch file
     for access to the TCP/IP server to load the TCP/IP drivers and connect
     to the network. This improves performance and simplifies control of
     Internet addresses, user names and passwords. It also allows floppy-
     based or diskless workstations equal access to the host. You can set
     up as many workstations as you wish for TCP/IP access, limited only by
     the licensing for one, five, ten or 100 simultaneous TCP/IP
     workstations. 

     LANtastic for TCP/IP allows broader use of corporate resources:

     {}    Increases efficiency by allowing users to share documents,
          spreadsheets and data files with other TCP/IP clients where like
          applications (such as Lotus 1-2-3(R) on DOS and UNIX) exist
          across the network.

     {}    Reduces costs for space, time and capital equipment by enabling
          terminal emulation for access to non-PC applications and for
          interaction with secondary programs previously accessible only
          through common-use, centrally-located terminals or additional
          desktop terminals. 

     {}    Lets you take advantage of corporate resources for mass storage,
          backup and archives elsewhere on the TCP/IP network.

     {}    Allows TCP/IP clients access to LANtastic local area network
          printers. 

     LANtastic for TCP/IP software supports Domain Name Service, a
     centralized host name database application that facilitates host
     lookups. It also supports TELNET, which provides the basis for
     terminal emulation, including local/remote echo and suppress go-ahead.

     FTP, another supported application, allows users to manipulate and
     transfer files between the local system and a remote host. The PC FTP
     server application, FTPD, provides access to the PC for other FTP
     users. Other supported applications include UNIX R-commands, the PING
     Internet Control message protocol and the industry-standard Network
     File System (NFS) client.

     LANtastic for TCP/IP supports DEC VT terminal emulations, including
     mouse support in windowing environments; IBM Display Station with
     screen sizes, color, extended attributes and status line features;
     keyboard remapping between PC and DEC VT or 3270-style keyboards; up
     to 25 individual sessions running concurrently in Windows  (depending
     on available system memory); or six sessions in DOS; and third-party
     terminal emulation.
